The role of cities in the fight against climate change – a home for green action?

POSTPONED

European cities can prove to be important actors in translating green ambitions into concrete action, for example through development with renewable energy, sustainable architecture, green urban planning and rethinking of food production, as well as green public procurement. But how are international networks and cooperation best utilized, and what should Denmark do – locally, nationally and internationally – to push green urban development forward?

What is the significance of green areas in cities, and how can it help solve challenges with climate change, stress, loss of biodiversity and lifestyle?
The event offers three perspectives on the cities of the future. And Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod and Lord Mayor Frank Jensen, Copenhagen,  talk about the role of cities in climate diplomacy, how Denmark promotes sustainable urban development and whether it is an advantage that the big cities can sometimes take the lead in places where nations hesitate.
